This page provides detailed instructions on how to upload a "Route", Note: If you used the TracBack method to create your route, this page does not apply! Because your route is already on your GPS. Otherwise, 1. Connect your GPS to one of the COMM Ports on your computer using the PC interface cable. NOTE: If you are a Palm Handheld Computer user and intent to use only one COMM Port for both HotSync operations and GPS data transfer (using the appropriate interface cables, of course), you must temporarily exit the HotSync Manager before you will be able to transfer GPS data!! 2. Your GPS Interface Format should already be configured from when you originally downloaded the track to your PC. If not, or if you just want to double check it, here are the steps again.
3. In Topo USA, click the Navigate tab and then click the Exchange button. In the Current Route box (to the right of the GPS Upload box), highlight the route that you want to upload. Click the "Directions" button under "GPS Upload". 4. Track the status of the upload on your computer monitor. 5. Press ENTER on your GPS to acknowledge completion of data transfer. 6. View the new route on your GPS.
7. Change the name of this route (e.g., Sagebrush Lp). This is NOT optional, unless you only intend to store only one route on your III Plus at any one time. Yes, this is another limitation of the III Plus.
8. To change the name of the route on the GPS
9. Now that the route is saved to your GPS, you can delete the saved track to make room for future tracks. And if anything ever happens to your GPS route, you can simply re-upload it again from your PC! To delete the saved track:
